| The programme for the day | |
| We will start with a drinks reception in the evening prior to the conference. This will be at Middletons' offices in Melbourne CBD. We will make sure that you are introduced to new people so no need to be shy. | |
| We have an exciting and varied selection of speakers covering a wide variety of topics. There will also be an interactive session - the Better Practice Exchange. This is a structured opportunity to speak to people from other organisations, find out what they are up to and how they go about performance improvement and a firm favourite of other UIC conferences. | |
| The speakers | |
| Our Keynote Speaker is Hector McKenzie, Director of Public Transport, Victoria. Hector leads the Public Transport Division and oversees the coordination, monitoring and provision of train, tram and bus services across the State. | |
| Our International Speaker is Maureen Dominey, Operations Performance Manager for London Overground Rail Operations Ltd (LOROL). LOROL were recently awarded the UK rail industry's Golden Whistle award for topping the performance league tables in 2011, with punctuality in excess of 96%. Maureen has a fascinating presentation for us which will cover a wide variety of topical issues including - working with Network Rail, the contractual and performance regime with Transport for London, the effects on performance of new rolling stock introduction, the effects on patronage and punctuality of increasing service frequencies and more! | |
| Stephen Banaghan is Director Rail at TransLink Transit Authority where he is responsible for the contract for the provision of rail services by Queensland Rail across South East Queensland. This includes ensuring that the performance regime in place between two State entities is both sensible and focused on the needs of the customer. TransLink are in the early stages of putting in place a multi-modal performance management system with the capability to measure performance throughout the day and track the customer experience across modes - heavy rail, bus, ferry and light rail. | |
| Our other speakers are Professor John Stanley, Adjunct Professor at The University of Sydney, Anna Chau, Principal at Booz&Co and Duncan Smith, Network Development and Performance Director, Yarra Trams. Each of these has a unique perspective on performance and excellent knowledge to share. | |
