Fiona Wilkie

Fiona started her career working as an academic researcher looking into the characteristics of small business owners across the country. She then moved on to a long career working in social housing - including policy, research and performance. She was Managing Director of a small housing association before taking a new direction in 2016 when she quit her job and went back to college. She is now a qualified complementary therapist and whilst continuing her studies also runs her own holistic therapy company.

Fiona's first contact with the UIC was way back in 1997 when she was trained as a Facilitator. Over the years she has attended Universal Improvement Skills, Universal Leadership Skills and Universal Data Skills. She has hands-on experience of applying UIMPROVE methodologies in the real world and believes the knowledge she gained from applying the approach made her a better leader. Fundamentally, UIMPROVE enabled her teams to focus on processes rather than people, leading to sustained improvements to services.
