Lucy O'Melia

Lucy O'Melia

Lucy was first exposed to UIMPROVE when she attended the Facilitator Development Programme in the summer of 2014, and was an instant convert. She has since enjoyed applying the approach across a number of housing projects, ranging from voids management to community investment. She has enabled teams to scope projects and carry out Annual Planning, and has used the Tools for Decision-Making to help groups reach funding decisions.

Lucy joined the UIC in April 2015 and brings with her experience of working in a range of functions across social housing and elsewhere. Her passion for organisational improvement was ignited during her time working at Bolton Council, where she played a supporting role helping to deliver corporate and departmental transformation programmes. She joined the housing sector in 2012 and has since helped organisations manage the impacts of Welfare Reform and use customer insight to improve their services.

Lucy lives in Bristol and when not at work she is usually running, cooking or exploring her latest musical fad. She continues to hope (vainly) that her own pianistic skills will one day match those of her idols.
