Shipping Falaise The SS Falaise was introduced by the Southern Railway in 1947, initially operating on the Southampton to St. Malo service and Channel Islands routes. The following year, upon nationalisation of the railways, she was transferred to the British Transport Commission. In the same year, she also commenced a regular programme of Short Sea Cruises as described in the pamphlet reproduced below. |

charming details of genteel international travel.
