Koningin Elisabeth

The Koningin Elisabeth was built in 1957 by the Cockerill yard, one of a trio of ships for the 1958 World Fair in Brussels, the other two vessels being the Roi Leopold III and Reine Astrid. She was withdrawn in 1977 which means I may have sailed on her between Dover and Oostende; I have certainly been on the Reine Astrid.
I found this photo on ebay in March 2026. Date and photographer unknown. The location has almost certainly got to be Ooostende. When time allows, I will browse various books and postcards to see if I can spot that crane in the background elsewhere.
