Alison Levings
Alison joined the UIC as a Consultant in 2015 after carrying out the role of Facilitator Coordinator for
one of our clients. It was in that role she discovered her passion for organisational improvement and,
through UIMPROVE, found the way to turn the theory learned while studying Human Resources and Management
at University into improvement focused action.
Alison's favourite part of working at the UIC has been helping organisations develop strategies that are
easily understood outside the boardroom and are meaningful throughout all tiers of the organisation.
Seeing strategies scribbled on post-it notes one day being delivered through properly prioritised
projects and well-managed routine operation later is her foundation for joy in this work. A very close
second to this would be watching the confidence of newly trained Facilitators grow while they put their
new skills to use.
In 2023 Alison decided it was time to step away from working full-time and now enjoys continuing work
she is passionate about as an Associate. Planning snowboarding trips to Japan has become a bit of an
obsession after her partner introduced her to the sport in 2022. Together they have purchased a mountain
lodge in a small village in the Japan Alps and spend as much time there as life and visa restrictions
allow. Back home in Aus she lives on beautiful Quandamooka country and loves spending her spare time at
the gym, practicing yoga or exploring all the waterways and parklands in the region with her partner and
their staffy Bonnie.
